Who is Big Tree Memorial Fund?
Big Tree Memorial Fund (BTMF) was established in 2020 in honor of Erik “Big Tree” Knapp who we lost suddenly to glioblastoma brain cancer. A Maryland-based 501c3 nonprofit, BTMF provides financial assistance and support to families dealing with the sudden loss of a loved one due to cancer.
We are part of a growing community of glioblastoma-focused organizations that provide a powerful network of information, support, and assistance to those in search of it. We raise funds by hosting the annual fall Big Tree Invitational golf tournament and other events.
Starting in 2023, BTMF will expand with the Little Oak Project. Partnering with Childrens National Hospital, BTMF will create a "Christmas in November" experience for children with cancer. BTMF has always been a family-focused organization with children at the center of our why, and we are grateful to continue to make a bigger impact than we initially imagined.
